1What breast implants do we use?
Silicone texture implants- Round/anatomical
2Where do we place the implant ie above or below the muscle?
Patient dependent – Very thin patients below the muscle otherwise I prefer above the muscle.
3Recovery time ?
Based on the patient and the procedure, most breast procedures take about 2 weeks to heal with full recovery and return to normal activities by 6 weeks.
4Does medical aid cover cosmetic procedures?
No, unfortunately most cosmetic procedures are not covered by medical aid. Some medical aids do cover a portion of the cost for a breast reduction and upper eyelid surgery. Breast reconstruction following cancer is usually covered by most medical aids.
5Am I too old or too young for cosmetic surgery?
No, a patient is neither too old or too young for surgery. Provided you are healthy, fit and are able to understand the surgery with its complications and risks then you can be a safe candidate for your procedure.
6How do patients get their authorisations?
Usually we obtained the authorisations for procedures, however when we have difficulty getting the procedures accepted, we ask the patient to try to obtain clearance for the procedure.
7What procedures do I perform?
The website explains all procedures that I am able to perform.
