Choosing a Plastic Surgeon

This is probably one of the most difficult or easiest decisions you will have to make.

Choosing your surgeon is just like choosing any other doctor. The first and probably the most important is to go to a surgeon that is a fully qualified Plastic and Reconstructive surgeon.

They must have completed their specialist degree and achieved a FCS Plastic Surg (SA) or a Master of Medicine in Plastic surgery.

A specialist is required to be registered with the Health Professions council of SA as a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon. (HPCSA website)

They should be a member of the Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons of South Africa. (APRASSA Website)

I have both an FCS Plastic Surg degree as well as my Master of Medicine in Plastic Surgery.
I am registered with the HPCSA and am a member of APRASSA.

The next important aspect of choosing the right plastic surgeon for yourself is finding a surgeon whose ideals and understanding of beauty are similar to yours.

I believe in creating subtle changes, I do not believe in the shock and wow effect that a being driven by media today. Trends fade but surgery is usually permanent.

My practice is patient centered. I spend a bit longer with each and every person until we together arrive at the best solution to their problem.

Ultimately the final decision lies with you, if it takes a second or third consult with your surgeon before you decide to book for your surgery, make sure you are confident with your choice.
